The Cookie Jar is also a Staten Island favorite, the brainstorm of Cake Chef owner James Carrozza. When Carrozza’s cookie jar collection grew, along with demand for his original cookies, he opened The Cookie Jar at 1226 Forest Ave. While Cake Chef is a full-service bakery, The Cookie Jar focuses on one aspect of the business, cookies of course, from seven-layer rainbow to cherry chocolate chip cookies and even a peanut butter and jelly variety. Other popular sellers are its red velvet cupcakes and brownie bites, which come in a host of flavors, such as mint, coconut, raspberry, and peanut butter. Other mini delights at The Cookie Jar are mini cream puffs and apple turnovers.
